  Our brand new attendance incentive has begun! On Friday last week all children enjoyed an extra playtime and today all children enjoyed the speaker playing songs on the yard at lunchtime. Remember you've got to be in school to enjoy these unexpected treats! Don't have FOMO (fear of missing out).

  Year 6 Residential Visit to Great Tower, Windermere

  Our Year 6 children last week enjoyed an unforgettable residential visit to Great Tower in the beautiful Lake District. Despite some changeable weather, the children embraced every opportunity that came their way and demonstrated excellent enthusiasm, resilience and teamwork throughout the trip. From the moment we arrived, the children threw themselves into a wide range of outdoor activities designed to challenge them, develop their confidence and encourage them to work together. Activities included archery, crate stacking, zip wiring, axe throwing, bouldering and a variety of team-building challenges, all of which required determination, communication and perseverance.

  One of the highlights of the residential was paddle boarding on Lake Windermere. Although poor weather meant the sessions had to be rearranged, the staff at Great Tower worked hard to ensure that every child was still able to take part. The children loved the experience of getting out on the water and showed great courage as they learned new skills and stepped outside their comfort zones. Away from the organised activities, the children also enjoyed exploring the stunning surroundings, including a walk to Tower Rock, where they were rewarded with spectacular views across the Lake District. The residential was also an opportunity for the children to develop their independence. Many experienced being away from home for the first time, making their own beds, putting on duvet covers, pillowcases and sheets, organising their belongings and taking responsibility for themselves throughout the stay.

  The evenings were just as memorable as the daytime activities. After busy days of adventure, the children enjoyed spending time together in their lodges, playing games with friends, taking part in dance-off competitions and, of course, listening to the occasional spooky story before bed. They also enjoyed toasting marshmallows and making s'mores around the campfire before joining in with songs and laughter. Throughout the visit, the children were a credit to themselves, their families and the school. They demonstrated kindness, camaraderie and friendship, supporting one another through challenges and celebrating each other's successes. We hope that, in years to come, they will look back on their time at Great Tower with great fondness and remember it as one of the defining experiences of their primary school years – a trip filled with adventure, independence, friendship and memories that will last a lifetime.

   

   

• Mrs Sands Maternity Leave

  We are leased to announce the safe arrival of the beautiful Jessica Lily Sands who was born on Tuesday of half term. Mrs Sands asked us to share these pictures with you and say a big thank you for all of your gifts, cards and well wishes. She says it was lovely of you all!

  Mrs Sands now begins her maternity leave and plans to return in November.
