Mrs. Bowman is our Computing lead teacher. Here at Cheviot Primary, we recognise that computing has changed dramatically over the years. Children already have many computer skills, as they use them in every-day life for a variety of reasons. Therefore our curriculum has changed to reflect this. There is an emphasis on developing coding skills and keeping children safe on line. In UKS2, children are taught how to use office documents such as Publisher and Excel, as these are skills for life. At Cheviot we endeavour to maximise each child’s potential by making use of external providers whenever possible. For example, children have been taught to add special effects to videos using ‘green screen’ and other editing apps.
