Friends of Cheviot

Our parents and carers are extremely important to us at Cheviot. They are very much part of the Cheviot family and our strong relationships were recognised in Ofsted May 2022.

'Parents are valued and welcomed each day at the school gate. Parents are positive about the school. Several parents said that they ‘wouldn’t send their child anywhere else’. They are well informed about what pupils learn so they can provide support at home. They value the online home-school messaging system.'

We know that parental and carer engagement is part of the key to pupil success; we actively encourage our parents and carers to be involved in all aspects of school life.  All parents and carers are automatically members of the Friends of Cheviot who are represented by a smaller Parent Council who make up the committee of the Friends of Cheviot.

Friends of Cheviot, a group of committed parents supported by the Headteacher and the Family Support Worker, work hard to strengthen links between home and school by involving parents and carers in the life of the school and encouraging a two-way exchange of information and viewpoints.
