Christmas is a very busy time in school. Here are all of the important dates in December on one page so you know what is happening and when!

  • Thank you!

    Fri 22 Nov 2024

    THANK YOU!!

We have received some thank you cards we would like to share with you. One is from the People's Kitchen who were so grateful to receive all of the harvest donations and the other is from Macmillan following our cake sale and bake off. Thank you so much for your generosity and support with both of these.

  • Anti-bullying week

    Thu 14 Nov 2024

This year's Anti-Bullying theme is ‘Choose Respect’. Bringing children together to discuss what it means to disagree respectfully, how to avoid resorting to bullying, and how we can all choose to lead by example.

Cheviot have enjoyed taking part in special assemblies, workshops and projects which have included Odd Sock Day and an online Live BBC Lesson!

This year the children have been set the challenge of making comic strips for a given scenario. These will show us how to respond RESPECTFULLY.  The children have then used their comics as a script, to act out their scenario and record their drama work.  We will respectfully view the polished product of each class during our whole school showcase assembly next week.

  • Remembrance day

    Mon 11 Nov 2024

Monday 11th November marks the anniversary of the end of World War 1 in 1918. We honour the sacrifices of men and women who served and died in World War 1, World War 2 and subsequent wars. At 11am we all went into the school hall to join people across the country in reflecting on the bravery and selflessness of those who fought for peace and freedom. Our children showed their respect with a two minute silence.

  • ODD SOCKS DAY AND CHILDREN IN NEED!

    Sun 10 Nov 2024

It's Anti-Bullying Week on the week beginning 11th November 2024. The theme this year is 'choose respect'  We are asking children to come to school in odd socks on Tuesday 12th November.

On Friday 15th November, it is Children in Need Day. The theme is 'Spot-tacular!' so children can come to school in Children in Need clothes or in spots if they would like to. Because this is for charity, we do ask for a donation of £1 on that day.

Thank you for your support and we can't wait to see what you wear!

  • Singing with Mr Clarence

    Fri 08 Nov 2024

Every Wednesday morning all children get to spend time with a music specialist. They enjoy learning songs and performing them together. Some of the songs are familiar to the children like the new one this week – Stargazing by Miles Smith. Some of the songs are brand new. The staff love these sessions too and we all end up singing the songs all day. We are all looking forward to learning some Christmas songs soon.
