Cheviot Primary School Recognised as a Voice 21 Centre of Excellence
We are delighted to announce that Cheviot Primary School has been recognised as a Voice 21 Centre of Excellence.
Following three years of developing oracy across the school and successfully completing a rigorous accreditation process, Cheviot has joined a select group of around 150 schools nationally to receive this recognition.
The award reflects our commitment to developing pupils' confidence, communication and vocabulary through purposeful talk across the curriculum. From classroom discussions and collaborative learning to presentations and debates, oracy is embedded in everyday teaching and learning at Cheviot.
This achievement belongs to our whole school community. Our staff have worked hard to ensure high-quality oracy is part of every classroom, while our children have embraced every opportunity to develop as confident, thoughtful communicators who listen carefully, explain their ideas and learn from one another.
We would also like to thank our parents and carers for their continued support. The confidence our children develop in school is strengthened by the encouragement they receive at home, and this recognition reflects that partnership.
We are proud to display our Voice 21 Centre of Excellence banner outside the school as a celebration of what we have achieved together. While we are delighted to have received this recognition, we see it as another step in our journey to ensure every child leaves Cheviot with the confidence and communication skills to thrive.
A huge well done to our pupils, staff and families on this fantastic achievement.
