PSHE
PSHE (Personal, Social and Health Education) and RSE (Relationship and Sex Education) are the development of children’s health and wellbeing. Through the promotion of behaviour, safety, caring, achievement and wellbeing we aim for all children to acquire the life skills needed to thrive.
What do children learn about?
The children’s learning is in six key areas:
∙Me and My Relationships.
∙Valuing Differences.
∙Keeping Safe.
∙Rights and Respect.
∙Being my Best.
∙ Growing and Changing
How is PSHE and RSE taught?
We use the SCARF online framework to support our teaching of PSHE and RSE. SCARF provides the framework for a whole-school approach to improving children’s wellbeing and progress, based upon five values: safety (S), caring (C), achievement (A), resilience (R) and friendship (F).
One of the reasons why our Cheviot children enjoy their PSHE and RSE lessons so much is due to the delivery of the subject, using many different teaching and learning styles that are cross curricular:
We also include a host of visitors, assemblies, educational visits and workshop opportunities as well as annual whole school events and projects throughout the year:
Not forgetting our well established action groups: School Council, Eco Warriors, Edible Garden Team and Playground Buddies.
