No Outsiders
At Cheviot Primary School, fostering inclusivity and empathy is at the heart of everything we do and through our No Outsiders journey, we are committed to nurturing a culture of acceptance and understanding, where every child feels valued and supported. Join us in creating a community where kindness and empathy thrive, and where differences are celebrated as strengths.
At Cheviot Primary School, we are proud to be a school which celebrates diversity and inclusion, and we have a growing number of families from all different backgrounds. We celebrate our differences and know how special it is to be unique.
We share No Outsiders assemblies every Monday, focusing on topics and themes in the news and which affect us and our communities, and we link these to British Values. We know that everything we learn about links to at least one of these values.
From Reception to Year Six, we explore books as a whole class which look at the importance of inclusion and belonging. We recognise the existence of prejudice and discrimination and think about what we can do to challenge this. We look at a book each half term, and then share some of our discussions in assembly.
No Outsiders teaches us that we are all different and all unique, and that is what makes us special. We can proudly say 'You belong here. There are no outsiders.'
