Panto day!
Our school have enjoyed amazing experiences of live shows again this Christmas.
Reception and Key Stage 1 enjoyed a visit from a visiting pantomime. They watched the story of Little Red Riding Hood and the children thoroughly enjoyed joining in with all the familiar phrases and actions. They were brilliant at helping Granny keep her special toy box safe and wasted no time shouting out whenever the wolf was near! We laughed, we shouted, we danced. It was a fabulous show that we will all remember.
Our Key Stage 2 children had a fantastic time on our recent trip to the Tyne Theatre for the ‘Cinderella’ pantomime. From the moment the curtain went up, they were completely captivated — joining in with the singing, laughing at the jokes, and eagerly shouting “Oh no it isn’t!” at all the right moments. The excitement grew even more when our very own Mr Mottram took to the stage with the two Ugly Sisters for a dance, leaving with a bright lipstick mark on his head as a souvenir! Not to be outshone, Mrs Sands enjoyed her own moment in the spotlight too, much to the delight of the children. It was a wonderful outing filled with fun, energy and festive magic, and the children represented the school beautifully throughout.
The following week Nursery and Little Explorers (and their parents/carers) enjoyed their own performance by Chris Bostock. . It was called Starlight and set in a cave. It was about a possum who went on an adventure. At the end everyone was given a piece of star dust to keep safe and then set it free!
