Harvest

We were delighted to welcome our local vicar, Reverend Ruth to lead a special Harvest assembly. She spoke about the growth of fruit and vegetables in different conditions, helping us think about how we all continue to grow — not just children, but adults too, in knowledge and experience. The assembly also reminded us to be thankful at harvest and appreciate the many gifts we enjoy. The whole school enjoyed singing two harvest songs together too – ask your child to sing them for you!

Reverend Ruth will be visiting again to lead a Christmas assembly.

On Wednesday, our harvest donations were collected by the local food bank. The newly appointed School Council undertook their first official task and helped to load their vehicle, ensuring the items could be taken to support people in need. Tim, from the food bank came to collect our items and showed us a typical 3 day food parcel for a family, a couple or a single person. He told us that they provide 1,500 parcels every month!!

Thank you to everyone who contributed — your generosity makes a real difference in our community and helps our pupils understand the importance of kindness and giving.
