Literacy is the ability to read, write, speak, and listen in a way that allows us to communicate effectively and understand the world around us.

Mrs Waugh (Early Reading Lead and English lead) ensures that the teaching of phonics using Little Wandle and the use of Talk for Writing throughout school mean that children are well supported in the development of their reading, writing, and oracy.

Mrs Rutherford (Early Years Lead), Mrs Waugh (Phase 2 Lead) and Mrs Maitland (Phase 3 Lead) support our staff to deliver exciting and interesting phonics, reading, writing and SPaG lessons all interwoven around a purpose.
