On Monday 24th March, we were visited by a member of the Hindu community - Kirtida Richardson. Kirtida introduced us to some of their gods (Krishnan and Lakshmi) and the great god, Indra. Kirtida talked about how Hindus regard cows as sacred animals and she sang some calming meditative music, whilst playing the pakhavaj (a drum). The children enjoyed hearing about her way of life and they really enjoyed the feelings of calmness and peace that she brought to them.
