Welcome to Cheviot Primary School where we believe we have something very special. I am proud to be the Head teacher of a school that has such awe-inspiring children! Our ethos of care and humour coupled with fantastic progress and attainment is our recipe for success. Cheviot is a happy school where taking responsibility for ourselves and other people and working hard to achieve our best is what we do every day!

We are part of the Smart Academy Trust working in collaboration with 7 other schools -Farne Primary, Mountfield Primary, Kenton Bar Primary, Stocksfield Avenue Primary, Wyndham Primary, Kingston Park Primary and North Fawdon Primary. We share many exciting events and staff share professional development sessions together to ensure the highest possible standards for our children.

Cheviot is a forward-thinking school which has experienced rapid improvement. This is down to a superb team of staff, Governors, children, parents and a supportive local community who all want to work together, have fun together and achieve together.

We believe in an 'I CAN' ethos which enables our pupils to achieve beyond their expectations and develop a strong sense of responsibility for themselves, their peers and the wider world. Cheviot Primary pupils develop skills for lifelong learning, we talk to the children constantly about becoming successful adults, about their interests and skills and how these might translate into job choices.
